MAY 01, 2011

On May 11, 2011 the U.S. Embassy and Framaco International marked the second milestone in the construction of the New Embassy in Dedinje, the topping out. The first milestone was the Groundbreaking ceremony at the site on February 10, 2010. The topping out celebrates the completion of the highest level of construction at the site. The event recognizes the dedication and hard work of the construction crews upon reaching this milestone. Mary Burce Warlick, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia; Dragan Djilas, Mayor of the City of Belgrade; and Mr. Paul Kacha, President of Framaco International poured the last portion of concrete to complete the construction. Other guests included Andrea Sehic, from ACES, Marija Golubovic, Serbia Green Building Council, and Milica Jovanovic Popovic, Professor, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade. The last milestone will be the Grand Opening of the new U.S. Embassy in July 2012.
